Lathe-Turned Objects: an International Exhibition
by Albert LeCoff, 1988 The catalog of an exhibit called the International Turned Objects Show which opened in Philadelphia and then traveled for 4 years. The work of 108 artists is represented in this first exhibit to include international artists for 8 countries. The exhibit was juried by Jonathan Fairbanks, Lloyd E. Herman and Rude Osolnik with additional invited artists selected by David Ellsworth, Albert LeCoff and Rude Osolnik. An interesting look back at the best work from the 1980's. I was particularly interested in seeing many more sculptural works (e.g. see the two Peeling Orb pieces by Todd Hoyer) than in the Jacobson collection of just a few years earlier.
