The Art of Turned Wood Bowls
by Edward Jacobson, 1985 The catalog of an exhibit at Arizonia State University which later traveled to the Renwick Gallery There it influenced many to begin to collect wood art, including myself. Essays by Lloyd E. Herman, Dale L. Nish and Rudy H. Turk provide a history and appreciation of wood art collected from 1977-1984. There are 87 images of the work of 21 artists. I was particularly interested in seeing the early work of artists doing very different things these days (e.g. simple bowls and hollow forms by Todd Hoyer) and the 9 magnificant objects by Del Stubbs.
