CWA Weekend in Charleston

The Mary Martin Gallery in Charleston will present an exhibition of wood art by Andy DiPietro, Ashley Harwood, Christian Burchard, Cindy Drozda, Cynthia Gibson, David Ellsworth, Derek Weidman, Dixie Biggs, John Beaver, Keith Holt, Marilyn Campbell, Stephen Hatcher, and Warren Carpenter.
In addition to a representative selection of their newest work, each artist will also have a piece in the exhibit that responds to and interprets the tragic event at the Mother Emanuel AME Church and the response of the city and state to the deaths of nine pastors and parishioners at the hands of a racially-inspired gunman.
In conjunction with this exhibition, Richard Hogue has planned an exciting weekend of activities for Collectors of Wood Art and the artists.
CWA Charleston begins with lunch at noon on Friday, April 29, and concludes after dinner on Saturday, April 30. Included in the program are the following:
Two lunches and two dinners
Guided tours of the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, the Nathaniel Russell House, the French Quarter (galleries, churches and points of interest), Middleton Place Gardensand Plantation Grounds, two artist studios, and the City Gallery a Waterfront Park
Lecture and demonstration on sweetgrass basket making
Private reception and exhibition opening
Bus tour of the lower peninsula and/or Patriot's Point
