"Furniture Masters - Artistic Visions"
Will you be in Boston during the first half of August? If so, do not miss "Furniture Masters - Artistic Visions" on display at 127-129 Newbury Street. Featuring the work of approximately 20 furniture masters, the exhibition will be on view from August 1 - 15, 10a-7p, seven days a week, and can be made available at other times with prior arrangement.
The New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association was founded in 1993 to keep the traditions of craft, art, and studio furniture alive. Today members of the group include the top artists working and teaching in this field. Their educational programs provide support and direction for recent graduate furniture makers. They have founded (and still staff) prison furniture programs in NH and Maine. And the masters touch thousands of others every year through exhibits, lectures, workshops and articles.
The group includes graduates of such prestigious programs as the North Bennet Street School, Rhode Island School of Design, Rochester Institute of Technology, the College of the Redwoods, and Boston University Program in Artisanry. Their furniture is in public and private collections and museums across the United States.
Artist Receptions, which are open to the public, will take place August 1 and August 7th from 6-8pm. For more information, visit their website at www.furnituremasters.org
