My latest Platonic solid. An octahedron has 8 identical faces (equilateral triangles) and can be thought of as 2 pyramids joined at their base. It is interesting that this form takes on quite a different character depending on how it is viewed, yet it is highly symmetrical. Lot of math involved in designing and turning this one. Completely formed on the lathe with an interior spherical box. Spalted Black Ash Burl, Waterlox, Soapstone
