2010 Size H: 10 in W: 5 in D: 5 in
Available for Purchase - I have this bowl in my inventory as of March 20, 2012
Top make the body of this piece I first turned a 10 inch diameter hollow maple hemisphere with a constant wall thickness. I cut this hemisphere into 4 equal segments and then ground the corners of each segment so they fit together to make the shape shown in the photograph. Technically, this was extremely challenging with wood working tools as tolerances had to be held to less than .01 inches. The finial screws into the body and is made of bloodwood.
