This piece is one of a series based on a family of microscopic sea creatures called radiolarians. The inner liner is spun copper. The inside of the copper was burnished with very fine steel wool while the outside was patina-ed to produce a turquoise like appearance. The pierced component is holly and the red wood is bloodwood.
