This bowl was made from a single flat board, and is finished with 24 coats of lacquer. This finish was sanded and buffed to a glass like surface. This finishing process is very time consuming, but it brings out the beauty of the wood better than any other process I have found. The curved lines are actually made using a straight cut with a table saw! The process is hard to explain, but easy to show. If you want to learn more, let me know and I'll show you.
