This "profile" was the fourth that I explored for the Guardians. (Total series comprised five variations of silhouette and five different woods.) The "detail image" shows one of the stages of construction: After completing and finishing the sculpture I sprayed with flat black, then sandpapered till all black was removed. The paint emphasized irregularities in the surface. Yypically repeated the process three times. >>>Always tempted to leave it black!!! Maybe some day.<<<
