Step, Stone, Spoon

Hard Maple, Iron, Stone Among my firewood were several chunks containing metal from a log that had been rejected at the sawmill for that reason. There were several pieces of the same hardware as incorporated in this spoon. These are "steps" screwed into a tree to facilitate climbing, probably used to reach a perch, or stand, for hunting. As the tree grew outward it overtook the steps, rendering them useless. I enjoy combining materials, typically utilizing wood that has grown around metal. In this case there is a third material-stone.
