Webster’s Dictionary (remember those?) defines dialogue as “an interchange and discusion of ideas……as in seeking mutual understanding or harmony”. I feel this piece is an apt metaphore for that description. 2 halves, similar yet with distinct differences, relating to each other but retaining their own identities. Note in the detail photo that the pierced lines on one half are curved, on the other half more straight and jagged. The steel balls separate the 2 halves but also join them together. (Hidden magnets hold the 2 halves and the balls in place.) Walnut, figured maple, steel balls
