I created "Invincible" for a Museum Show honoring the 5 year Anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings in 2018. The museum director asked me if I would be interested in creating an artwork of someone in a racing wheelchair that represents the bombings that day. Being there that day of the bombings, and all the chaos and confusion that ensued, gave me much hesitation and doubt about creating this artwork. Could I create an artwork worthy enough to represent that day! After a couple of weeks of trying and almost giving up, I found in my last piece of Birch plywood interesting wood grains that looked like a racing helmet and the rest came into view after that. "Invincible" represents the heroic perseverance to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. Never let anything get in your way of achieving your true potential!
