Silk Worm Life Cycle on White Mulberry - Kagamibuta Netsuke
2015 Size H: 0.7 in W: 2.3 in
Made from a gift of wood from an enthusiast of this particular wood, the theme was a suggestion by this person. The leaves of the White Mulberry (Shimakuwa) are the silk worms' food source. This mulberry wood has a spectacular chatoyance. It is quite difficult to capture the flash of the chatoyance in both the light and dark woods with photography. Material: Shimakuwa - White Mulberry from Japan
