Blue Oak - Quercus Douglassii, a long ago wood gift from furniture maker Robert Erickson. The key is Sirari wood. The box was turned with lots of wood left for reshaping and the dense, heavy wood feels solid and rightly weighted in the hand. The strong figure tells its own story on each side of the box.
