Louisiana Salvages Sinker Cypress is a wood with an amazing history. Back in the early 1800's a lot of logging was being done in the southern Louisiana swamps. The cypress were transported by barge to the sawmills...and during the trip many would fall off and sink in the murky waters of the swamp...thus getting the name "Sinker Cypress". These old growth logs are amazingly beautiful and large. I am fortunate to live in this area of Louisiana and have an available source.
