Urban salvage timber rosewood crotch from the Tampa Bay area, turned, carved and pierced (not wormy wood). Base is recycled poplar, paint, brass rod. This piece derives its inspiration from an extremely worn Left-Handed Welk shell found at Matanzas Inlet, just below St. Augustine, Florida, after Tropical Storm Fay spent two days to slowly pass by. This was my submission to the "Currents" exhibit, but was not selected, however, I was honored to have it selected for the Instant Gallery Critique at the Tampa AAW Symposium by Jeffrey Bernstein, Michael Mode and Thomas Riley.
