The Larkin Building Box
2006 Size H: 9 in W: 16 in D: 8 in Weight: 5 lb

The Larkin Administration Building was Frank Lloyd Wright’s incredibly innovative office building built for the Larkin Company in Buffalo, New York, in 1906 and tragically demolished in the 1950’s. This is not an exact model but a respectful homage to that wonderful building, and leaves off the entrance pavilion on the side of the original building. The whole top of the box lifts off revealing an inner tray lined with lacewood. By putting one’s index fingers between the columns on both ends of the box and lifting the tabs there, one can lift out this inner tray and two more trays as well. These trays have dividers that suggest the size of the atrium in the original building. The last two compartments are in the end sections of the roof. All six compartments are lined with black velvet.
