The affection of street-hardened Hispanic young men for their little Chihuahua dogs is a wonder of human nature. Sculpted in butternut, maple and teak with details in manazanita root and Tasmanian elm burl on an English sycamore base. Finished with wood bleach, aniline dyes, and acrylic polyurethane.
Part of the beauty of butternut is that it still has a beautiful grain after being bleached. His shorts are teak, and the Chihuahua is maple.
Yes, the buckle and spikes on the collar are gilded--I couldn't resist doing it.
