Dragon Knots

David Western

2010    Size   H: 17 in  W: 6.5 in  D: 1 in    Weight: 1 lb

Sold - Jan 7, 2010

This wedding spoon unites a Celtic-style dragon with a lucky Chinese dragon. Circling a Ming Dynasty central knot, the dragons symbolize strength, with dual bowls symbolizing the unity of the couple. Although I seldom stain or colour my pieces, it is customary for brilliant red to be used at Chinese weddings because it is the colour of good luck!
