Themes of transformation combined with a masterful handling of abstraction and curved line are common to both Celtic art and to the indigenous art of Northwest Coast First Nations peoples. This design pays tribute to both styles while also acknowledging lovespoon tradition with its twin-bowl tail. The double spoon has, for centuries, been a way by which the idea of 'two hearts/souls being joined as one' can be symbolically conveyed.
