Permanent Collection of the State of West Virginia Ebony with Jamaican Dogwood rests – 20.5 x 3 x 4 – Governor’s Award Winner 1992 West Virginia Juried Exhibition - part of the book and touring exhibition Wood Turning in North America Since 1930. My thought was to carve a piece suggestive of ceremonial use. It had two handles for passing person to person but it seemed the ceremony was unknown, lost, or forgotten hence the title.
